This illustration summarizes a two-part knee surgery: painful hardware removal and arthroscopic removal of scar tissue in the joint. This was a follow-up surgery after the patient’s initial injury and fracture reduction. The patient was found to have adhesions across the anterior interval and medial and lateral gutters, chondromalacia (cartilage irritation) on both lateral and medial condyles, and a lateral meniscus tear.
